
Douglas S. Griffen is the Founder and Director of the Advanced Strategy Center in Scottsdale and nationally recognized for his facilitation expertise in strategic planning, leadership development, employee engagement, brand development and consumer/market research sessions. Mr. Griffen spent nearly 20 years with IBM before forming his own consulting firm which specializes in the use of advanced electronic brainstorming to accelerate the planning process as well as increase the level of engagement/buy-in to the results.
The Center's specific process for electronic brainstorming is called the Advanced Strategy Lab (ASL) and can be delivered to clients in three ways: 1) At the center itself which is specifically designed to host strategic planning groups of 15-25; 2) Via mobile laptop labs that can be set up anywhere using a self contained local area network and can easily support groups of 15 -30 and larger groups in a 'conference style' where the laptops are shared; and 3) Over the internet in an approach called the Advanced Strategy Lab Online where groups of 10 to 40 can collaborate via simultaneous voice and data, all with expert facilitation.
The Center supports Arizona, National and International clients in a broad range of industries and applications. Recent clients include the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (NPR/PBS), The Arizona Republic/Republic Media, KPMG, Harris Interactive (Harris Poll), AT&T, Catholic Healthcare West Hospitals, The City of Scottsdale and Touchstone Energy.
